    Dear Editor

    It is with deep sense of regret, but overwhelming duty to the public (particularly the Brussels female public) that we are compelled to revel Het Gentse Nieuws for what it really is : tastelessly colourful, easily read, and very cheap !

    Never before has the public been held so enthralled by the vacuous claims of a provincial scribbler and the empty threat to disseminate unfortunate images.

    What did Materazzi say to Zidane?

    Is Ghent really the capital of the Lost World ?

    Has or has not Het Gentse Nieuws received unsavoury images ?

    We hope for speedy answer to these great mysteries………
